The National Police have arrested a man for stealing electric scooters valued at 40,000 euros in an establishment in Talavera de la Reina. The stolen material was located in less than 24 hours in a location in the Madrid district of Carabanchel where they found the alleged author handcuffed and with tape in his mouth simulating his own kidnapping to avoid any police investigation.

The events occurred at dawn on Monday the 24th in an establishment in Talavera de la Reina where almost 40 electric scooters valued at approximately 40,000 euros were stolen.

The following day, and as a result of various information provided, it was possible to obtain the approximate location of where they could be hidden. The police officers managed to locate the exact place, this being a busy premises in the Madrid district of Carabanchel.

Once in the vicinity, the agents confirmed with the residents of the neighborhood that the windows had been open the day before and that, at that time, they had large boards to prevent the interior from being seen from the outside, the Police reported. National in a statement.

They immediately managed to contact the rightful owner of the property and he informed them that the lock had been changed without their consent. At that moment, they heard groans coming from inside the premises, and the policemen were able to observe a gagged and handcuffed man through one of the windows.

They quickly entered the house, observing the stolen scooters and this man lying on the ground simulating his own kidnapping to avoid any responsibility for the theft. In addition, they discovered in the toilet the cap that he had used the night before to hide his face during the robbery.

For all these reasons, he was arrested and turned over to the judicial authority as the alleged perpetrator of the events. All the stolen material has already been recovered.
