Almeida is committed to "reinforcing the viability" of municipal markets with training schools

The mayor of Madrid, José Luís Martínez-Almeida, has opted to "strengthen the economic viability and sustainability" of municipal markets and the city's commercial hubs, promising a new ordinance to regulate them from 28M.

This was announced by the mayor in an electoral key during a visit to the Barceló market to convey his intention that these establishments "continue to be the soul of the neighborhoods".

"The objective is to strengthen the legal security of these establishments and contribute to guaranteeing their viability", has slipped Almeida who will seek the "consensus of the sector" to work on the promotion of the circular economy.

For its part, the PP of Madrid proposes the creation of training schools to teach traditional market trades to its future professionals. An example of this is Educarne, the first center for training, innovation and development in the meat sector, located in the Barceló market itself, which has an insertion rate of 90%.

The mayor of Madrid has vindicated the work carried out in this regard in the last four years, when "more than 188 million euros" have been allocated to direct aid, tax rebates and promotion of the commercial sector.
