The Polish Iga Swiatek, world number one, shares the side of the Indian Wells WTA 1,000 draw with the Kazakh Elena Rybakina, defending champion, and the Spanish Paula Badosa, according to the draw held this Monday.
Swiatek will debut against one between Danielle Collins and a player from the qualifiers and could have a demanding third round against the Czech Linda Noskova. On the horizon she has a quarterfinal with the Tunisian Ons Jabeur, sixth seed, and a semifinal against Rybakina, fourth seed.
Rybakina herself could be a rival for Paula Badosa, who is competing in this tournament with an invitation letter, in the second round. Badosa, who won Indian Wells in 2021, will debut against the American Ashlyn Krueger. In the same quarter of the table is the Czech Marketa Vondrousova.
