As reported by sources from the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC), the eighth section of the Barcelona Court, which had sentenced him in February to two years and three months in prison for a continued crime of fraud and theft, has received today the communication of his entry into prison.

In addition to a search and arrest warrant from the eighth section, Barcelona's Criminal Court 1 had issued another last Thursday for Cavallé being absent from a trial for the second time, accused of defrauding another victim of 850 euros between 2016 and 2017.

Albert Cavallé has accumulated several convictions, some of them final, for having defrauded at least twenty women.

Last February, the Barcelona Court sentenced Cavallé to two years and three months in prison for theft and fraud, after an agreement, for having deceived several women with the desire to obtain money illicitly, making them believe that he was a prestigious person. and high purchasing power.

The sentence relates that he made one of them believe in May 2017 that he was a surgeon and that his family owned a prestigious clinic in Barcelona, ​​as well as that he had money in Panama, and he got her to give him 49,000 euros.

The Court issued a search and arrest warrant in June against Cavallé after he did not appear at a prison of his choice within the stipulated period.

As legal sources have explained to EFE, the well-known scammer of women has voluntarily appeared at the penitentiary center accompanied by his lawyer, who, apparently, until this morning also did not know Cavallé's whereabouts.

The head of Criminal Court 1 of Barcelona confirmed that Cavallé was duly summoned, and that he was also notified of the corresponding legal warnings in case of non-appearance, and specifically the possibility of decreeing the search, capture and imprisonment in case of unjustified absence. in the oral hearing.
