A young man stabs three students in a Polish school

An 18-year-old Polish young man attacked students at a school in Kadzidło, in northern Poland, with a knife this Wednesday and injured at least four students, one of them seriously.

As reported by the regional police, the attacker had studied at the school and, for reasons that are still unknown, broke into a classroom where a group of 20 students were taking classes around noon. He was wearing a balaclava and a knife.

After hitting several of the students and stabbing three of them in the abdomen and neck, the attacker escaped through the window and, after a brief chase involving tracking dogs, was arrested by the police. One of the injured had to be rushed to hospital by helicopter due to the severity of his injuries.

Local firefighters and a psychologist have gone to the scene to provide assistance to the group of students who witnessed the attack. At the moment, the authorities have not provided information about the possible motive for the attack.

In May, an unknown person broke into an orphanage for teenagers in Warsaw and attacked several of the inmates with a knife, one of whom died days later from his injuries. In that event, an investigation determined that the attack could have been motivated by the relationship that the attacker had with one of the young women at the center.

It so happens that the local police station is in a building adjacent to the school, which has facilitated the quick reaction of the officers and the arrest of the perpetrator of this Wednesday's attack.

The acting Polish Minister of Education, Krzysztof Szczucki, has published a message on his social networks urging an investigation into the details of the incident.
