A tourist of British origin died this Tuesday after falling from a balcony or high area of a hotel in the town of Costa Teguise, in Lanzarote. As sources from the Civil Guard have confirmed to EFE, the young tourist, aged 18, died at the José Molina Orosa hospital in the capital of Lanzarote due to the severity of the injuries caused by the fall, which was initially a product of of an accident, according to the first investigations of the Armed Institute.
The Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) received the alert during the morning of this Tuesday and sent health workers from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to the hotel to attend to the young man, who was later transferred to the hospital with a serious prognosis.
According to Civil Guard sources, the young man died during the afternoon. A team from the Teguise Local Police was also sent to the scene to respond to the emergency.
