A minor is sentenced to 8 months of probation for insulting and attacking two classmates

The Provincial Court of Pontevedra has ratified the sentence of 8 months of supervised release imposed on a minor under 14 years of age for harassing, insulting and harassing, even physically attacking, two classmates.

The Pontevedra court has denied the appeal presented by the minor's defense, which must also compensate the victims with more than 7,000 euros for the consequences of their actions, which lasted during the 2020/21 school year and the following year.

In its ruling, which is final as no appeal is possible, the Provincial Court maintains the sentence imposed in the first instance for two crimes of harassment and two other minor crimes of mistreatment.

The minor, along with another classmate who was listed as being investigated but against whom the case was filed, used insults such as "fat", "ugly", "dumb" or "stupid" to the two victims, with whom he shared a center and who They needed psychological and psychiatric treatment because of the convicted student's behavior.

The sentence also states that they were kicked or tripped, in addition to suffering humiliating comments of a sexual nature that the harasser also posted on social networks, where he appeared in the live videos that the victims made on Instagram.

In addition, he also mocked the tastes of his colleagues, whom he ridiculed for being fans of the 'otaku' aesthetic, which he publicly related to a lack of hygiene.

This harassment caused the minors to stop going to class to avoid confronting their classmate, using various excuses to their family. Thus, their school performance began to decline and they had to receive both psychological and psychiatric treatment, with episodes of fear and great anxiety.
