A man who published manuals on networks to make weapons with 3D printing was arrested

The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a resident of Lloret de Mar (in the region of La Selva, Girona) for a crime against the exercise of fundamental rights and public liberties, a slight of theft and one of illegal possession of weapons .

The young man, 26 years old, showed firearms in content spread on the Internet, and published instructions for manufacturing them with three-dimensional printing technology to attack ethnic, ideological or LGTBIQ groups.

The arrest took place on September 4, although the investigation began in 2022 and the detainee was brought to justice in the Blanes courts.

The events would have occurred in 2021, 2022 and 2023, when members of the council reported the theft of a poster from the Department of Equality and the appearance of a video on social networks whose content could be threatening.

During the investigation, the agents identified the perpetrator, who used several different profiles to avoid being discovered.

From these he transmitted hateful and threatening speech with LGBTIphobic, racist and ideological motivations.

At the entrance and search of his home, a long carbine-type weapon was found with its ammunition, texts and writings of an ultra-rightist nature, a three-dimensional printer, the plate stolen from the Department of Equality and various symbols of the Franco dictatorship period such as flags , stickers, posters and banners.

According to the police, the detainee has the necessary skills and knowledge, as well as easy access to material to be able to manufacture weapons ready to shoot using 3D technology.

The investigation is still open and obtaining new evidence or indications is not ruled out once all the objects recovered inside the home are analyzed, as well as the analysis of the texts and writings on which he based his criminal activity.
