The Civil Guard investigates the shooting death in a possible settling of accounts of a man on the exit ramp of the garage of an urbanization in a coastal area of La Vila Joiosa (Alicante).
According to what sources familiar with the case have told EFE, the crime occurred early Tuesday afternoon in a residential complex near La Cala, and the victim could be a 33-year-old individual from the residential complex, apparently of Ukrainian nationality.
At first, the local police of La Vila were notified about a fatal accident in the garage since a witness had seen a vehicle pass over the victim's body, but the agents later verified that the deceased had around half a dozen bullet holes.
The Civil Guard has taken charge of the case and is investigating whether a vehicle that appeared shortly after on fire in the neighboring town of El Campello was the one used by the aggressor or aggressors to injure the victim and flee.
The body has been transferred to the Alicante Institute of Legal Medicine to undergo a forensic examination in the next few hours, which should clarify the exact cause of death.
