Agents from the Regional Environment Unit (URMA) of the Mossos d'Esquadra have administratively denounced a man in La Sentiu de Sió, in the Noguera region) for alleged animal abuse.
Last Wednesday, the police detected a dead donkey at the door of a livestock farm in the municipality.
The agents carried out a visual inspection of the facilities and found that the facilities were extremely unsanitary.
During the inspection, they located two dogs, podencos, in dire sanitary conditions, in a starving state and with difficulty walking.
The animals were tied with chains measuring one and a half meters and had no access to water to drink.
Under these circumstances, the Mossos denounced the owner for animal abuse and handed the dogs over to the Sentiu de Sió council so that an authorized kennel could take them over.
