A man arrested for breaking the windows of eleven cars in San Sebastián

A man was arrested this Monday at noon after breaking the windows of up to eleven vehicles that were parked on Paseo Duque de Mandas, in the well-known Egia neighborhood of the capital of Gipuzkoa.

According to the Diario Vasco, the events occurred around 1:00 p.m. when, according to a witness who witnessed what happened, a man "about 30 years old and armed with a large blunt object who seemed out of his mind" began to hit the windows of the vehicles that were parked on said avenue.

According to the same witness, three or four passers-by who were in the area, upon seeing the man's attitude, tried to calm him down but it was not until a man "grabbed him from behind and was able to restrain him."

Shortly afterwards, an Ertzaintza patrol arrived at the scene and arrested the man, who was taken to the local police station. Several patrols from the San Sebastián Municipal Guard have also approached the area of the incident.

The Diario Vasco points out that what happened has caused a great stir in the Egia neighborhood and traffic on the affected promenade has been cut off in both directions for a few minutes.
