A landslide in Vacarisses causes the partial derailment of an R4 train

A landslide in Vacarisses has caused the partial derailment of the first carriage of a train of the R4 Regional. It also affects the R12 and, at this point, trains run on a single track between Vacarisses and Castellbell stations and Vilar. The line, therefore, is not cut, but delays are recorded.

Among the 37 passengers who were on board the train, which had left Manresa, there are no injuries. The accident occurred at 7:45 a.m. and they were inside the train for more than an hour. ADIF has confirmed that they would be evacuated to another convoy.

At 9:05 a.m., the transfer of the 37 passengers from the train was completed, which at 7:45 a.m., as a result of a landslide on the track between Vacarisses and Castellbell and Vilar (R4), suffered the departure of its first axis. There have been no injuries among the travelers and, having transferred to another train located in parallel, they will continue the trip towards Barcelona to their destination.

Between 09:17 and 09:40, railway traffic remained interrupted at the request of the Fire Department. Once authorized to restore, it runs on a single track on the affected section, which affects R4 trains originating in or destined for Manresa and R12 trains that may experience delays on this route.
