A group stabs a young man and steals his shoes and backpack on a sports field

Last weekend, a group of young people attacked another group of young people with knives who were playing on some sports fields in the Madrid neighborhood of Santa Eugenia, resulting in the injury of a 25-year-old Peruvian man with no criminal record, who was also robbed of his sneakers, backpack. and its documentation, police sources have informed Europa Press.

The events occurred around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday in this sports area located on Monte de Monjuic street. According to witnesses, some young people arrived without prior notice, hooded and armed with bats and knives, to get them, so they ran hastily from the scene. However, one of them was hit by the attackers, falling to the ground and being injured by several stab wounds to the chest.

The victims asked for help at a nearby cafeteria, located at 24 Castrillo de Aza Street. An ICU from the Samur-Civil Protection went to the scene, whose health workers verified that the wounds were not serious, so they were transferred without prior notice to the hospital. Gregorio Marañón, a Madrid Emergency spokesperson told Europa Press.

Agents from the National and Municipal Police also arrived there, and took statements from these young people. They told them that a dozen young people came with weapons to the field, where they were playing soccer, to attack them. They claimed that they were young Peruvians in their twenties like them.

The National Police have not found weapons on the victims nor have they found them on the fields. Now, look for those responsible for the brawl, without ruling out any hypothesis. One of them would be theft, taking the injured man's sneakers and other personal effects; or a fight between violent youth gangs, but those attacked had no criminal record.

But the hypothesis that is gaining more strength is that of sporting revenge. Agents believe they all knew each other and the two groups were sports rivals. In fact, as 'ABC' published today, one of the witnesses reported that the attackers were from a fan of an opposing team: "On social networks they have said that they are going to an event hall in Leganés." This point was brought to the attention of the police authorities of that town.
