A 23-year-old man has died this Sunday morning denied on the large beach of Platja d'Aro (Baix Empordà).
The events occurred shortly before 8:00 a.m., when there is still no surveillance service. Some off-duty lifeguards who were in the area were able to remove the drowned man and, together with members of the Local Police, carried out resuscitation maneuvers.
The SEM has acted with two ground units and the medicalized helicopter, but the resuscitation maneuvers have been unsuccessful. The psychological support service has also been activated to care for family members.
The Mossos d'Esquadra have acted in the management of the emergency, as well as the Civil Guard, which has taken charge of the investigation proceedings.
