The Game Awards 2023: The most notable announcements and trailers

The Game Awards 2023 gala, the so-called “Oscars of video games”, was held this morning in Los Angeles (California) and had Baldur's Gate 3 as the main protagonist. However, the event organized by journalist Geoff Keighley has also been the scene of a large number of announcements related to titles that we will see in the coming months (and years).

Below, we select some of the most notable trailers from the event held early this Friday at the Peacock Theater, formerly known as Nokia Theater or Microsoft Theater.

No Rest for the Wicked

Moon Studios, the company responsible for the Ori saga, presents its new game: No Rest for the Wicked. It is a much darker and more theoretical exploration and combat title than the Ori saga and with magnificent visuals.

Visions of Mana

From Square Enix comes Visions of Mana, a semi-open world action JRPG that will be released in 2024. It is the first installment of this classic franchise in 15 years.

Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero

The most spectacular Dragon Ball battles you've ever seen. This is basically Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero, a new video game set in the universe of Akira Toriyama and heir to the Budokai Tenkaichi franchise.

Rise of the Ronin

The new thing from Team Ninja in collaboration with Sony already has a release date: Rise of the Ronin will arrive exclusively on PlayStation 5 on March 22, 2024.

Jurassic Park Survival

Saber Interactive presents Jurassic Park Survival, a survival game set in the popular Jurassic Park film franchise. The player will step into the shoes of Maya Joshi, a scientist who will have to survive the threat of the dinosaurs that she herself has created.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 reappears at The Game Awards to narrow its launch window a little more: sometime in 2024. Let's remember that the new release from Ninja Theory is one of the most anticipated Xbox games.

Marvel's Blade

Arkane is working on a Blade game. The French studio responsible for the Dishonored saga has announced Marvel's Blade, a game starring the most famous vampire hunter in comics.

Last Sentinel

It's not very clear what Last Sentinel is about, but it comes from Steve C. Martin, an industry veteran who has worked on titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. The game tells a science fiction story set in a futuristic Tokyo.

Lost Records

Don't Nod, the studio behind Life is Strange, presents its new game: Lost Records. The premise is the following: four friends who experienced a strange event in 1995 meet again 27 years later. They swore never to talk about what happened in '95 again, but now they will have to face it.

Light No Fire

From the creators of No Man's Sky comes Light No Fire, an open-world adventure game set in a procedurally generated fantasy land. It's basically a bit like No Man's Sky meets the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

The return of several classic SEGA franchises

The Japanese SEGA has announced the return of several of its most classic franchises and has presented them in this promotional video in which you can see some images of new versions of Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage and Crazy Taxi.

Behind this diverse video game is the Canadian developer Daniel Mullins, responsible for such acclaimed titles as the recent Inscryption. Therefore, it is to be expected that this Pony Island 2 will be full of surprises and innovative mechanics.

Monster Hunter Wilds

The final surprise of The Game Awards 2023 has been Monster Hunter Wilds, the first installment of the franchise developed exclusively for the new generation of consoles. It will arrive in 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
