EA Sports FC 24 – or the new FIFA 24 as many will continue to call it for a while – is now available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Just a week ago we reviewed all the news of this new installment, which has focused especially on giving more importance to women's football. Since its debut in 1993 – under the name FIFA International Soccer – the Electronic Arts simulator has established itself as the best soccer video game and a benchmark in the field of sports simulators. Now EA must demonstrate that success was not hidden behind the FIFA acronym and that, despite the name change, EA Sports FC 24 remains unbeatable.
Women's football is the main protagonist of this new FIFA. For the first time, the game's star mode, Ultimate Team, will be completely mixed and male and female players will be able to join teams. Let's remember that Ultimate Team is a game mode in which users create their own teams with real players that they collect – almost literally – as if they were cards.
Women's football has been present in the Electronic Arts sports simulator for several years now, specifically since 2015 with FIFA 16. At that time, several teams were introduced and, over the years, EA has been adding more and more teams. . Last year, with FIFA 23, two women's leagues came to the game for the first time: the English Barclays Women's Super League and the French Division 1 Arkema. Well, in this first edition of EA Sports FC 24 the leap is substantial: three more leagues are added to what already exists, among which is the Spanish women's soccer league. A total of 1,600 players with real statistics.
Another novelty of Ultimate Team is the possibility of improving the statistics of each player. In previous editions, to improve the team you had to get better players, but in EA Sports FC 24 you can level up all player cards. This way you can increase the statistics of the squad while being faithful to your favorite players. The only drawback is that when you upgrade a card, you can no longer trade it with another user.
Regarding technical improvements, this new FIFA debuts technologies such as HyperMotionV, an advanced motion capture system optimized by AI. Additionally, a total of 1,200 players have customized playstyles that simulate their every body movement. On the other hand, the physics of the ball have also been optimized through artificial intelligence.
It remains to be seen how the most competitive scene of this new EA Sports FC 24 will develop, both professional and amateur. With each new installment of the franchise, players must adapt to discover the best way to play, although it seems that this year's title is especially continuous despite the name change.
