Apple hopes to launch its Vision Pro mixed reality headset on the market in February

This 2024 will be a decisive year for Apple. According to company sources cited by Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, the Cupertino company will launch its long-awaited Vision Pro mixed reality headset next February, months ahead of schedule. These same sources have assured that Apple has increased the production rate of the device and is already training point-of-sale employees for its correct configuration.

Apple presented the Vision Pro last June during its last worldwide developer conference (WWDC). It is a mixed reality device that combines augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) with which they hope to create a new product category as they did at the time with smartphones (iPhone) and tablets (iPad).

Other companies have tried in recent years to enter this new market niche, but so far none have been successful. The last to come to the fore were the Meta Quest 3. The high price of these products is pointed out as the main barrier to their consolidation in the technology industry. The price of Apple Vision Pro will be about $3,499. Its production has already been underway for several weeks at its facilities in China with the aim of being completely ready by the end of January 2024.

Apple has asked its customers to test their applications for the device with the latest news and tools of the operating system with which the viewer will work, Vision OS, and send their feedback with the aim of improving its performance.

The company will train at least two employees at each store in January to ensure that those who purchase the Vision Pro headset configure it properly. This training will include topics such as visor placement, configuring the device's light seals, and how to implement prescription lenses for visually impaired users.
