Next Sunday, December 3, Granada will host the 'Reinas de la Alhambra', an international women's cycling criterium that will be held for the first time in Spain and will take place on the Gran Vía of this Andalusian city.

The event, organized by the sports newspaper Relevo and promoted by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalusia in collaboration with the Granada Provincial Council and the Granada City Council, will bring together forty national and international cyclists in the peloton in a program that will be divided into three sleeves.

The first will be a 'Scratch' type test, a classic race in which the first to cross the finish line will be the winner, while the second will be an 'Elimination', in which the last two cyclists in each cross the finish line They will be out of the competition until there are only two left, who will play for victory in the sprint.

The third and last race will be the 'Grand Final', where only the ten best in the joint classification of the two preceding races will be able to participate and opt for the definitive victory in a second, shorter scratch, the organization reported this Saturday.

In parallel with the strictly competitive, activities will be developed to promote women's cycling through 'Women in Bike', the program conceived by the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC) so that more and more women ride bicycles.
