The Civil Guard searches in Andorra for alleged commissions to Piqué for the Super Cup in Arabia

The Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard asked in September to trace accounts related to the former FC Barcelona footballer and president of the Kosmos company, Gerard Piqué, for his alleged relationship with the contract negotiated with Luis Rubiales during his time as president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for the football Super Cup to be played in Saudi Arabia, focusing on several transfers.

This is stated in an official letter from the UCO dated September 19, 2023, consulted by the Europa Press agency, in which this unit of the Civil Guard asks the Investigative Court number 4 of Majadahonda (Madrid) to request information from the Andorran authorities. , specifically aimed at the Mora Banc Grup banking entity.

The agents focus on accounts of Andorra CF, a football team owned by Gerard Piqué, to find out the destination of the funds coming from an account titled by Kosmos.

In this account, it says verbatim, "the success commissions paid by SELA Sport Company have been collected in consideration for the intermediation services provided in the negotiations with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for the Super Cup dispute. of Spain in Saudi territory". These commissions are estimated by the UCO at "four million euros per year."

The UCO refers to two previous reports of its own from December 2022 and May 2023 in which it assures that "the role of Kosmos Football SL in the negotiations for the celebration of the aforementioned sporting event has been reflected, as well as the declared economic relations before the AEAT both internally and externally".

In the same letter, the UCO stops at the "business conglomerate" directed by Piqué, mentioning that the former FC Barcelona footballer acquired 56% of Andorra in 2018 through Kosmos.

In this sense, it details three movements in bank accounts in Andorra: a first for 3.4 million euros between June 2019 and March 2022 from Kosmos "recipient of SELA commissions." "The amount transferred represented to the football club more than a quarter of the income received from Saudi society," he says.

Then it cites the company Kerad Holding because it declared before the Treasury an income originating in Andorra of 12 million euros, dated February 12, 2021. The UCO says that it was ordered by Gerard Piqué "under the concept of capital increase" .

Finally, another income from Andorra from the company Kerad Holding worth two million euros is cited, dated February 15, 2021. The payer was also Piqué and the concept of "capital increase" was also used.

The UCO explains that its request for information is related to the intention to "verify the possibility that there may have been financial gifts" to Luis Rubiales or other RFEF executives by Kosmos or to Gerard Piqué and his entourage, "as a consequence of the negotiation for the celebration of the Spanish Football Super Cup".

"There is an urgent need to be able to carry out complete traceability of the funds received by Kosmos," continues the UCO, according to the report collected by Europa Press, which confirms that "there is a large flow of money between accounts." As an example, it stands out as notable that "90% of the outflows of funds from the account receiving SELA payments are destined for accounts of the same group or linked to it."

The UCO recalls that it already has the banking movements in Spain and that it now needs to include those of the Principality of Andorra in a series of accounts "from 2019 to the present, with the highest level of detail possible", including products such as loans, credits, cards or securities wallets, among others.

In this sense, he asks to locate an account owned by Gerard Piqué, as he says, for being "issuer of the payment of 2,000,000 euros to a Spanish account on February 15, 2021."
