Sepp Kuss: "For me this season has been a 10"

The American Sepp Kuss, current champion of the Vuelta a España, who received a tribute from Encamp where the Jumbo-Visma cyclist resides, that the victory in the Spanish round has "given him a lot of confidence."

The tribute to the American had 60 participants who braved the cold and ascended Cortals de Encamp by bicycle. Afterwards, Kuss received a bouquet of flowers and a personalized illustration created by Xavier Casals.

"It has been a very nice day since I have done one of my favorite climbs in Andorra, which is pedaling up the Cortals de Encamp. It has also been interesting because children, older people and also some of my colleagues who live like me have accompanied me in the country," said Sepp Kuss, who was able to celebrate his most important victory so far as a cyclist at the family level. "It has been a little cold, but we have been able to enjoy the victory in the Vuelta a España."

After a 2023 where he finished fifth in the UAE Tour. The one from Durango chained the three grand tours: he was decisive in Primoz Roglic's victory in the Giro d'Italia and also in Jonas Vingegaard's victory in the Tour de France. He closed the year with the title of La Vuelta a España.

Sepp Kuss ends his contract on December 31, 2024 with the Dutch team. "For me this season that ended has been 10 for winning La Vuelta and for being in the three grand tours where two of my teammates have won, both in the Giro and in the Tour."

And for next season? "I don't know yet what challenges I will have, but whatever the case, I am looking forward to the new season. It gave me a lot of strength to win La Vuelta," said Kuss, who did not want to reveal which races he will race next season.
