The Mercedes AMG Formula 1 team has renewed its drivers in pairs at the same time: Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will continue competing for the star team until 2025. Both extend their contracts for two more seasons.
In this way, Lewis Hamilton, seven-time world champion, extends his relationship with the Anglo-German team for a total of 13 seasons, since 2013 when he arrived from McLaren.
Hamilton has accumulated so far, in 11 years with Mercedes, six world championship titles, eight constructors, 82 victories (of the 103 with which he leads the historical classification of victories), and 78 pole positions.
For his part, George Russell has also extended his contract until the end of 2025, so he will have been in the team as a starting driver for four years, although he began his relationship with Mercedes in 2017 - when he joined the team as a member of the program for young pilots with 18 years.
Hamilton celebrated his renewal with these words provided by Mercedes: "Every day we dream of being the best and we have dedicated the last decade to achieving it. Being at the top is not achieved overnight or in a short time, but rather It takes commitment, hard work and dedication, and it has been an honor to enter the history books with this incredible team.”

For his part, George Russell was very happy to extend his agreement with Mercedes: "I have grown with this team since I joined as part of the junior program back in 2017, it is my home and it is fantastic to extend our special relationship until 2025. After stepping into the Mercedes seat last year, I wanted to repay the trust and faith that Toto [Wolff] and the rest of the team put in me."
