Espanyol transferred midfielder Sergi Darder, until now captain of the blue and white club, to Mallorca on Friday, as reported by the Catalan entity in a statement, an operation that has been closed for eight million euros plus two in variables.
The future of the Spaniard, who will play for his native team, has been under the spotlight since relegation to the Second Division. Finally, his departure has been finalized before the parakeet season begins, this Sunday against Albacete. The Catalan entity wished him "all the luck" in his new projects.
Darder's termination clause was 10 million euros until July 31. As of August 1, the figure rose to 15. The transfer of the player, in this way, has been completed for an amount similar to that of the first figure stipulated for his departure.
Darder was trained in the Espanyol grassroots football and matured in the top flight with Málaga, for three seasons, and at Olympique de Lyon, where he played for another three seasons. In the 2017-18 campaign he returned to the Catalan entity.
