Josep Lluís Núñez's right-hand man, Anton Parera, accused Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, in El Món a Rac 1 of wasting the legacy of the man who was president of Barça between 1978 and 2000. Parera claimed the legacy of former president Núñez whom he classified as a "football visionary" who revolutionized "European football structures" and assured that Laporta "is destroying psychologically, emotionally and symbolically" his legacy.
In response to those who regret that his confrontation with Johan Cruyff ended with the Dutchman leaving the club, Parera remembers that without Núñez the Cruyff myth would not have existed: "Everyone forgets that Cruyff is what he is as a Barcelona myth because Núñez "He's going to save his head in an assembly of delegates."
