The Catalan marshes recede in July and are below 28%

The water level in the reservoirs of the Catalan internal basins has broken the upward trend and has receded again during the month of July. The swamps are below 28%, with official data from this Saturday. After the volume grated 25% in May and touched the lows of the current dry period, the water level rose to 30.2% in June, thanks to the rain. ACA sources explain that "it is normal" that the figure has dropped during July, since "more water is consumed, there is greater evaporation, and less contributions from the rains." Despite the fall this month, the Agència Catalana de l'Aigua maintains that the emergency phase due to drought will not enter until at least November.

According to the ACA, the rains in May and June have allowed the level of reserves to recover "only about five points", mainly in the Ter Llobregat system, while in areas such as the Alt Empordà or the Tarragona regions, the lack of rain has made the recovery "almost non-existent".
