The Aemet activates the orange warning in all these provinces due to coastal phenomena and winds

Up to 21 provinces and Ceuta will activate warnings this Thursday for waves and wind, which will blow strongly in the northern and eastern thirds of the Peninsula, the Balearic Islands, Alborán and the Strait. In addition, the weather will be marked by the decrease in maximum and minimum temperatures in many parts of the country, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The orange warning has been activated in Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country by combined sea, with waves that in the afternoon will exceed 8 meters high in some points. They will also be at risk from strong gusts of wind, which could reach 90 kilometers per hour in these areas.

The streaks will be important in Castilla y León. There, the yellow warning has been activated in provinces such as León, Burgos, Palencia or Soria, where winds of up to 80 kilometers per hour are expected.

This Thursday, the entry and passage of an active Atlantic front is expected on the Peninsula, which will leave abundant cloudiness and occasional rainfall, which will move from northwest to southeast throughout the territory, without reaching the Mediterranean area.

In Galicia they will be more frequent and abundant, even locally strong or persistent in the west and north, as well as accompanied by some storms at the end. They can be in the form of snow in the mountains of the northern half, with greater accumulations in the Pyrenees and the northwest.

Maximum temperatures will tend to decrease on the Atlantic slope and western Cantabrian area, with values more appropriate for the time of year. The minimums, which will occur at the end of the day, will drop in the northwest quadrant and a good part of the northeast. Moderate frosts are expected in the Pyrenees and weak frosts in the rest of the mountains in the northern half, which can extend locally to the northern plateau.

The exception will once again be on the Mediterranean slope. There, temperatures will rise again. In Alicante, they will exceed 25 degrees. In Castellón, Valencia or Murcia, they will be above 27 maximum.
