Zapatero gives his vision of the Spain-Catalonia relationship in Vanguardia Forums

The former president of the Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, is the protagonist, this Thursday, February 1, of a new event in the Foros de Vanguardia cycle. The event, titled Spain-Catalunya: the meeting, will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Once Auditorium in Barcelona. The talk will feature the intervention of journalist Ramon Rovira; the deputy director of La Vanguardia, Lola García, and the delegate of RAC 1 in Madrid, Jordi Armenteras.

The intervention of Zapatero, socialist leader of the Executive between 2004 and 2011, comes in a particularly tense political phase, after the week began with Junts' rejection of the Amnesty law that the PSOE had previously agreed with the independentists, a gesture that places the stability of Pedro Sánchez's Government in question.

Zapatero, who has publicly expressed on numerous occasions his support for Sánchez and his plan for agreements with the pro-independence parties to turn the page on the process, now has the opportunity to give his opinion on the situation of the Executive, in full offensive in addition to the opposition of the right and the extreme right.
