Tito Valverde has finally been a grandfather

Tito Valverde has just released ¡Vaya vacaciones! , a comedy with a script by Manuel Burque and Josep Gatell that pays tribute to those grandparents who are essential for parents who do not give the scope. Or that they shamelessly abuse it, like what Edu (Ernesto Sevilla) and Begoña (Toni Acosta) do with José and Manuela (Gràcia Olayo). However, this time the grandparents will launch a Machiavellian plan to get rid of the children. A comedy without morality that surprises with unexpected twists.

More talented than proven, Valverde is as convincing as if he had changed diapers for years and given his hours to look after other people's children. "I put myself in the role, I let myself be guided by what the script says and the director's guidelines. Anyway, I've always liked children. I've always had a rather childlike spirit and I don't plan to lose it. A ¡Vaya vacaciones! , the little girl kept provoking me; the next day she wakes up like a rose but I go to bed and see how I wake up [laughs]. During filming we form what happens sometimes, a small family; we play it and play it well. And Gracia Olayo is a very good actress. I am very glad that the grandfather seemed credible", laughs Tito Valverde.

Childless but married to fellow actress María Jesús Sirvent since 1984, he has included her in his latest work, Camino de la suerte, already in the editing phase. "It is the story that Jorge Alonso has written about his grandfather, whom he loved like a father: the man went to Madrid, where he lived for 50 years until his wife died. When he returned to the village he met a divorced woman and began a beautiful love affair. With everyone against, the family, the town, society. Almost hiding. Yes, go on vacation! is a tribute to grandparents, this film is to old people who think their life is over”.

After the series Pepa y Pepe immediately arrived Todos los hombres son iguales and El comisario. “This gave me more presence and more money to pay the bills and to be able to say 'now I can work when I feel like it' [laughs]. On April 26, I turn 72 and I have to rethink my life because I'm stubborn to live it like I'm 50 and it can't be".

"He owned a pet store and carried a cockatoo on his shoulder. Then they put an iguana in it. He left her there and the iguana went about its life. And there was a crow where the fridge was, and it suddenly said 'Water, water'. He talked when he wanted, the bastard. A wonderful series but which brings back very hard memories because my girl, my Vero, is gone as she is, and that is an image that I will not forget".

Enlightened farmer in Amanece que no es poco, implacable businessman in Sin identidad, brutal cacique in Matadero... His trick to be believable is simple: "Give me a beautiful paper and when I study and assimilate it, I live it and I play it. This is my school. Neither Stanislavski, nor Lee Strasberg nor the mother who gave birth to them”.
