A few days ago I scrubbed the collapse from a series of apparently minimal damages to the house: a toilet flush stopped working, a window handle was thrown out of action by a clumsy movement, and a crack in the frame of 'aluminum from a showcase threatened to drop one of the doors. Luckily, I live in a neighborhood where there are still operators to do these kinds of repairs... Or so I thought.

I called the plumber for the cistern. Since he is a gentleman who, in case of urgency, leaves everything to come, I told him that this time the matter was not critical and that he should come when he could. He called several times to apologize and it took a week to get through. "There are no plumbers who know how to do repairs and my son and I don't give a damn. We reject many requests because we cannot attend to them", he explained to me. Now I understand why my neighbor almost made me a monument the day I gave him his phone out of an emergency. "It's a wonder, sir. God willing, it will take him a long time to retire,” he said.

I went to the workshop where I ordered a window years ago. Closed. I asked a neighbor for the owner's phone number. The workshop had collapsed due to structural problems in the old building. "We had to close", he told me. Since there was danger, because people could enter my house through the window that did not close, he came the same day to fix it. I asked him for a quote to replace another window. He said he would send it to me, but he hasn't even insisted. He no longer works.

There was no luck with the stained glass window. “I know it's barbaric, but there is no way to repair the frame. Nobody knows. All the doors of the furniture must be changed", the man from the kitchen store told me. I called my operator's directory and sure enough, they say that those who knew how to do these repairs have already retired and there are no replacements.

Total, a lot of virtual reality and a lot of multiverse, but it's hard to find someone who takes care of what happens in the world we live in. There is no chat to fix home faults. At this point, Apple's magnificent glasses will not be able to work due to a lack of working plugs.
