The PSC dreams of also covering the coastal round on the seafront and Besòs

The tender for the roofing works of the Ronda de Dalt at the height of Vall d'Hebron is one of the actions that Jaume Collboni plans to promote in the first 100 days of his mandate if he wins the elections. But the proposals of the socialist candidate for the rounds go much further. With the year 2050 on the horizon, Collboni has presented a roadmap that aims to go from the current 7.6 kilometers of coverage to 15.6, 60% of the total area of ring roads that are now in some sections physical borders and wants to become an "axis of economic, social and environmental development".

Apart from the already agreed coverage in certain sections of the Ronda de Dalt in Vall d'Hebron, as well as in other points in Nou Barris and Sarrià, the PSC has designed an ambitious urban transformation that proposes the selective coverage of various spaces in the Ronda Litoral in two sections with important associated transformations.

First, in the Besòs area, related to the modernization of the estates that face the river park to gain a new balcony for public space that also facilitates metropolitan connections with the cities on the other side of the river. Then, on the coastline, where Collboni dreams of gaining space to green the surroundings and generate public space for sports facilities, as well as photovoltaic energy generation accompanying the remodeling of the promenade from Poblenou to the Fòrum.

A few years later, the Morrot section and the Ronda de Dalt area would remain, linked to the transfer of the Clínic hospital to the UB sports courts. In total, some eight linear kilometers and half a million square meters of public space gained.

The sum of these works would mean an investment of 1,500 million euros. Collboni's proposal goes through dedicating 60 million each year to progressively do it at the same time that the poles of economic and scientific activity develop around the corresponding coverages. Apart from the municipal contribution, the PSC is convinced that it is a project with a scope beyond the city and even the metropolis. The opposition leader, Salvador Illa, accompanied Collboni to commit the support of the Generalitat to this project the day the PSC governs on the other side of Plaça Sant Jaume.
