The Popular Party also recovers the capital of La Plana and its candidate Begoña Carrasco will be the next mayoress of Castelló. The PP is the force with the most votes with 73.55% of the total counted and obtains a total of 11 councilors, four more than in 2019. The PSPV of Amparo Marco, the mayor until now, would obtain nine councilors, only one less than in the previous elections.
However, the right obtains an absolute majority in Castelló, as Vox goes from one councilor to three. For its part, Ciudadanos loses representation -four councilors in 2019- and Compromís maintains its three representatives. The coalition government that gave the PSPV governance in the previous municipal elections does not add up, since the leftist forces remain at 12 councillors, since Podem-EUPV does not enter the City Council.
In Vila-real, the PSPV will be able to maintain the government, as it remains the first political force although it goes from 13 councilors to 11. The PP also grows, it goes from 5 to 8 but the sum of the right, with the 3 Vox councilors, does not allow them to add. In La Vall d'Uixò, already with 100% scrutinized, the PSPV maintains the mayoralty. The PP, second force, grows by three councilors and goes from 5 to 8. Also in Onda the PP will govern, since it adds three more councilors and achieves an absolute majority.
Other municipalities that, like Castelló, will change color are Burriana and Almassora. In the first town, with 96.57% counted, the PP obtains 8 councillors, two more than in the previous elections and Vox also grows from 2 to 4. In Almassora, with 100% of the result, there will also be a change in the mayor's office, since the PP gets one more councilor and becomes the first force, while the PSPV loses two councilors.
