The PP and Vox close a government pact in Valencia

The PP and Vox will today make official the entry of the four ultra party councilors into the mayor's government team, María José Catalá. With this, the formation of Santiago Abascal conquers power in the third city of Spain. This was not the initial will of Catalá, who obtained 13 of the 33 councilors of the corporation in 28- M. But the facts, translated into loss of votes, and the need to guarantee stability to close the municipal budgets, have that Vox reaches its great goal: to become part of the management of the crown jewel of Valencia.

With this agreement, Vox gets the areas of Family and Children, Elderly and Youth, Markets and Health, traditional festivals without fail, and the management of the Devesa del Saler. In addition, the spokesperson for this formation, Juan Manuel Bádenas, will manage Economy, Employment and Entrepreneurship and its councilors will also have another mayoral tenure.

When it seemed that the tension between Vox and Catalá was about to dynamite any bridge between the so-called "preferred partners", a four-way meeting between the mayor herself, the councilor for Large Projects, José Marí Olano, on the part of the PP; and Vox's municipal spokesperson and provincial president, Ignacio Gil Lázaro (Santiago Abascal's most trusted person), served to lower the tension and prepare the way for Vox's. The key was to achieve stability in order to approve the 2024 budgets.

The next day, Vox supported without complaining and without introducing any changes to the tax ordinances proposed by the PP and, hours later, the City Council reported that it had informed Valencia CF that it would not do any negotiations on the planning agreement until the club to effectively resume the construction works of the New Stadium, which had been stopped for almost fifteen years. The agreement with Peter Lim has been one of the workhorses of Vox since the beginning of the legislature, a formation opposed to giving in to the whims of the owner of the sports entity.

With this agreement, Vox consolidates its presence in the Valencian institutions after the pact with the PP that allowed Carlos Mazón to speed up his investiture as Valencian president.
