The fourth place offered by Sumar for the European lists does not convince Izquierda Unida

The fourth position on the European electoral list that Sumar offered to Izquierda Unida yesterday has not convinced the federation whose management has agreed on more details about the proposal to finally decide whether to accept it or, on the contrary, explore other possibilities to compete. to the elections.

This has been agreed by the Federal Collegiate Commission, or Executive of Izquierda Unida, and the coordinators of the territorial federations in an emergency meeting called after yesterday announcing the commons that would occupy the second place, Compromís the third and Más Madrid the fifth. Which, given that the head of the list will be Estrella Galán, only leaves fourth place as an option despite IU being the only "rooted formation in all of Spain" that is integrated into the confederal space directed by Yolanda Díaz.

The federal Executive and the regional coordinators of IU have agreed to convey to Sumar that "the proposal is incomplete since it talks about the first positions, but important elements at the political and organizational level remain unspecified. Therefore, it is necessary to specify the rest of elements to be able to make a final decision". Always reiterating that the presence of the transformative left in the European Parliament and the most solid articulation in our country is "essential."

From there, and once this specification has been obtained from Sumar, "the federal management will send the information on the proposed agreement to all the territorial federations of IU so that it can be debated," and that, "after the debate in the territories, "A Federal Coordinating Committee will be convened the week of April 25 to vote on the final decision." The Federal Coordinator is the highest body of IU between assemblies. For this debate in the territories "the details of the agreement will continue to be finalized so that the entire militancy has all the necessary information to make the best decision."
