The former judge of the National Court and former mayor of Vigo, Ventura Pérez Mariño, died this Wednesday at the age of 75, as confirmed by the mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, who has conveyed the pain of his loss.

He was Vigo's first councilor for the PSOE for half a year in 2003, in coalition with the BNG, until a vote of confidence left him without mayor, which ended up passing into the hands of Corina Porro, of the PP.

Furthermore, in 1993, he held a seat as a deputy, although in 1995 he left the record to remain linked to the Law.

Ventura Pérez Mariño, who suffered from Parkinson's, worked as a lawyer and was a judge at the National Court.

In the judiciary, his last assignment was one of the investigative courts of Vigo and he retired in 2012, when he was 63 years old.

The mayor of the city, Abel Caballero, has referred to Ventura Pérez Mariño as a "Vigose with an extraordinary affection for the city, with dedication to Vigo all his life."
