The deputy for Barcelona Juan José Aizcorbe leaves his position as manager of Vox

The Vox deputy in Congress Juan José Aizcorbe, who was head of the list in Barcelona in the 23-J elections, has abandoned his responsibility as manager of the party chaired by Santiago Abascal, according to El País and confirmed this Friday the own far-right formation.

This change, which is neither a dismissal nor a resignation, as Vox has assured, has been made known coinciding with the controversy that is affecting the ultra formation as a result of information about the transfer in the last four years of seven million euros from Vox to the private foundation Disenso, chaired by Abascal.

Vox has released a statement in which it assures that Aizcorbe will continue to carry out control and oversight tasks in the party's management committee, but that "he agreed months ago to reduce his workload" and that therefore a new one will be appointed. manager.

This "remodeling" in the Vox leadership, which adds to the open crisis after the resignation of Iván Espinosa de los Monteros as spokesperson in Congress, in what was interpreted as a triumph of the most radical wing of the party, which heads the Catalan Jorge Buxadé, is officially justified by the search for "a more agile and coherent operation with the new situation of the party, present in five regional governments and numerous institutions throughout Spain," the statement explains.

Aizcorbe assumed the management of Vox in 2019 and, according to the far-right party, even if he leaves this task "he will continue to exercise control and oversight functions from the management committee and report to the party treasurer." Likewise, he will continue as a deputy in Congress and "enjoys the maximum confidence of the leadership and also its maximum gratitude."

Be that as it may, this week the controversy over the transfer of seven million euros to the Disenso foundation, uncovered by Eldiario.es and fiercely criticized by Federico Jiménez Losantos from the airwaves of esRadio, has led to the formation of Abascal send a letter to its militants to flatly deny the information.

The general secretary of Vox, Ignacio Garriga, stated in his letter that these are "manipulations" and "false accusations" to "sow suspicions on a foundation" that is the "spearhead" of the "cultural battle" against the " communism".

At the same time, this week the Court of Accounts issued a report on the oversight of the parties that accuses Vox of having committed "non-compliance that could constitute infractions subject to sanctions." The report for the years 2018 and 2019 indicates that the party accounts – signed by Aizcorbe – show that Vox received 311,947 euros in 2019 through ATM deposits without identifying the donor, a fact that could indicate that these were anonymous donations.

For her part, Vox spokesperson in Congress, Pepa Millán, has stated that Aizcorbe "has not been dismissed" but that the changes that are being undertaken respond to the "need to lighten the structure", since the party has "government responsibilities in many parts of Spain" and "the effort must be focused on it."

At the moment, Vox has reduced the twelve deputy secretaries it had to six and the one linked to the legal area is now coordinated by vice president Jorge Buxadé, who has become Abascal's iron right hand in controlling the direction of the party and without internal counterweights since the departure of Espinosa de los Monteros.

Regarding the resignation of the Minister of Forest Management and Rural World of the Government of Extremadura, Camino Limia, the only far-right counselor in the Government of the popular María Guardiola, the Vox spokesperson in Congress has stressed that there is already a "replacement natural", who is "a person who already held a general secretariat and who was in the structure of the Government", and has reiterated that the departure of the counselor is due to reasons of incompatibility of the position with her personal life.
