There are debates in life that do not admit of indifference. Quality healthcare is one thing, and dependency is another. Both go very well together. Spain is a reference country in both areas, but it is essential to maintain and improve quality services, and this is the responsibility of all governments. Citizens do not realize the extent to which it is necessary to invest in both parties until they need to be taken care of. That is why the demand of ALS patients, made visible these days by the exporter Juan Carlos Unzué and previously by many affected, such as Jordi Sabaté, deserves attention and, above all, action.
Unzué went to the Congress of Deputies yesterday and his speech immediately went viral. It was a devastating allegation. He leaned on the table. These words of Unzué should stir consciences. Not just to those in charge of making laws, but to anyone. ALS is one of the cruelest diseases and any help that society can give to those affected is little. The conclusion was unanimous yesterday on social networks.
The ALS patients, with Unzué at the head, but with hundreds of voices or simple glances, because they can no longer even speak, behind them, are asking for regulation accompanied by funding, which guarantees a dignified life for these people and their families The problem is there, all you need is will: "We are about 4,000 affected in Spain.
