Sánchez takes care of Aragonès

The Palau de la Generalitat hosts two events this week that, to go well, should be much more than a photo. This Tuesday, all the parliamentary groups (minus Vox) have been called to hold a summit with a vague aim on education, based on the disaster projected by the latest PISA report on the subject. And on Thursday, Pedro Sánchez visits Pere Aragonès, an ally who demands that he be prioritized.

At today's summit, beyond some photo that aspires to sell leadership on the part of the Government and beyond good words and good intentions wrapped in Christmas gift paper, Aragonès and councilor Anna Simó will have to concretize a action that denies that, when they don't know what to do, they hold a summit.

Already with other areas as sensitive as the drought, it has been seen that, photos of summits aside, the Government does not bet on "brave changes" unless the harsh reality and the Parliament force it to do so. Here, the PSC and Junts have not put sticks in his wheels and, even, they have done much of the work for him. We will see if this Tuesday, on the schools front, this can be used for the good of all citizens. Because not only your lordships demand attention.

In this sense, the PSOE is already taking enough care of a Left that is suffering from the emergence of Junts as a decisive force in Spanish politics. The photo of the Spanish president with Catalan, on Thursday, is also about this. Just like the claim that Sánchez made last week when the news broke of a meeting he must have with Carles Puigdemont.

When he was asked about this future appointment that Jordi Turull blew up, Sánchez replied, pretending to be, that he had a meeting with Aragonès on his agenda at the moment. One thing does not exclude the other, but it was obvious that, motu proprio or alerted to the irritation at ERC in the face of the risk of eclipse, he wanted to take care of the Republican partner.

Lately, he does it often. Every time he is asked about Junts or Puigdemont, he answers by adding ERC or Aragonès or Junqueras, whether it comes across or not. Last week, for example, at the presentation of his book Tierra firme, when he was asked if he talked about Puigdemont, he said that he would talk about him and Junqueras in a future volume, when he talks about the current mandate, because so far it has collected the experience of the government in recent years.

In this sense, it could be understood that Tierra firme does not talk about a Puigdemont that until four days ago he considered "anecdote" and whom he blasphemed like anyone else. But until now ERC and Junqueras were already its partners. Haven't you considered them relevant enough to mention until now? Will he have to do it in the next book when he talks about Puigdemont, to compensate?

He takes great care of it, no doubt because they demand it or because he now finds that he needs it more than before. In any case, now that we are close to Christmas, it would not be too much to demand that the care of each other accompany us all, including the citizens who look at them expecting much more than photos and good wishes.
