Podemos has demanded that the dissolution of the Francisco Franco Foundation, and other organizations related to Francoism, be accelerated through a “correct” application of the Democratic Memory Law.
This was claimed by the Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, and the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero in the institutional event held this Monday on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Tribute to all the victims of the military coup, the war and the dictatorship, organized by the coalition government.
From the purple formation they have considered that the commemoration and recognition of the victims of Francoism "would never have occurred without the work of the associations for democratic memory that have been working for decades in Spain without any institutional support and without the push of Unidas Podemos in the Minister council".
To "honor all those victims who have not received any kind of reparation until now or who are still buried in gutters and common graves", Podemos have demanded that a "correct" application of the text of Democratic Memory be carried out to prevent The Amnesty Law of 1977 prevents the crimes of the dictatorial regime from being tried.
