Mick Jagger announces wedding: he will marry his girlfriend Mel Hamrick, 36, at the age of 79

About to turn 80 - on July 26 - the legendary rocker Mick Jagger will step on the altar again. At least this is what the British media claim, which has echoed that the leader of the Rolling Stones is engaged to his girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, 36 years old. The couple met in 2014 and have a son together, his eighth, aged six. If true, it would be the third marriage for Jagger, who first married Bianca Jagger in 1971; and secondly, in 1990, with Jerry Hall, in Bali, although this link was not legally valid.

The rumors began to circulate a few weeks ago, after the ex-ballerina was seen with a brilliant ring which, according to friends close to the couple, has told the British media, it is an engagement ring. Melanie would have revealed to her friends that they are getting married, but that when the singer proposed in June and gave her the ring, she took it as a joke. "Mel was at the American Ballet Theater and was telling her friends that she was engaged to Mick," a source told the Daily Mirror. Mick and Melanie have defied the 43 years that separate them and have been together for a decade now. In each of the public appearances, the couple exudes complicity.

He is the father of eight children, from five different women. The youngest, Deveraux, who shares with Melanie, seems to have inherited the talent of his famous parents. She, who has been a classical ballet star for the past 15 years, shared a video in which the boy can be seen dancing.

Undeniably seductive, the love life of the musician, who is already a grandfather and even a great-grandfather, has been very turbulent. According to his biographer, US journalist Christopher Andersen, Jagger has had sex with more than 4,000 women, most of them anonymous. Among the celebrities there would be Angelina Jolie, Carla Bruni, Carly Simon, Princess Margaret of England, Tina Turner, Uma Thurman, Farrah Fawcett, Margaret Trudeau and the model Janice Dickinson.

They were in a relationship from 1966 to 1970. Both starred in a stormy affair: heroin, alcohol, amphetamines, an abortion and suicide attempts. While dating Faithfull, Jagger began seeing Marsha Hunt, an African-American model, actress and singer who became the mother of Jagger's first child, a girl named Karis, born in 1970.

In his seventies, Jagger had relationships with other women and that's when he fell in love with his future wife, Bianca. They married in May 1971 in Saint-Tropez. She was already pregnant with Jade. They divorced in 1979 and Bianca later explained that the end of the relationship came with the beginning of the affair between the singer and Jerry Hall. With the supermodel and actress, he had his longest relationship to date. They started dating in 1977; they were married in a Hindu ceremony in Bali in 1990, but a British court later ruled that the bond was invalid. They had four children and separated in 1999, after it emerged that the musician had fathered a child with Brazilian model Luciana Giménez.

In 2001 he met model and fashion designer L'Wren Scott. They were together until she took her own life at her home in New York in March 2014 at the age of 49. Shortly before L'Wren Scott died, Jagger had already met his current partner.
