Mazón closes ranks with Mako Mira and points out that it is the Botànic who has to give explanations

The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has no intention of provoking the first crisis of his Consell. "I am very happy with the government I have," he said in response to the alleged favorable treatment of a senior official by a regional emergency service helicopter. A situation that occurred in the previous legislature when Mako Mira was part of Ximo Puig's Executive as regional Secretary of the Treasury.

The investigation by the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency points out the possibility that there was an alleged "irregular and fraudulent use of public resources" due to the mobilization of a deployment that "was not proportionate" to rescue a friend from a mountain in Buñol (Valencia). of the regional leader.

In this sense, the head of the Consell has pointed out that those who authorized the rescue "should be the ones who will have to answer for this supposed favorable treatment." Mazón pointed to his predecessor in office, Ximo Puig; to the Minister of Justice, Gabriela Bravo; and the regional Emergency Department, José María Ángel.

The fact is that Mira is one of the two senior officials of the Botànic Government who continues in his position. Although in principle she indicated that she would be there for a few months to facilitate the transition, the regional secretary has given no signs that he is going to leave office. Along these lines, the Ombudsman of the PSPV in Les Corts, José Muñoz, has indicated that "it will be Mr. Mazón who will have to make decisions because now he is the one who has the responsibility", since Mira continues in the Consell after the change of government.

The Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency opened the investigation in January 2023 after receiving an anonymous complaint and recently reported the case to the Valencia Prosecutor's Office after gathering evidence and indications. The Public Prosecutor's Office has opened investigation proceedings.
