King Juan Carlos will coincide with the PP staff at Almeida's wedding

Next Saturday, King Juan Carlos will attend the wedding of the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, with Teresa Urquijo Moreno, where he will coincide with the PP leadership. The King's father is a first cousin of the bride's grandmother, Teresa de Borbón-Dos Sicilias, and also maintains a close friendship of decades with the grandfather, Iñigo Moreno de Arteaga, owners of the El Canto de la Cruz estate, located in Colmenar Viejo, where the banquet will be held.

Sources close to King Juan Carlos have confirmed to La Vanguardia his presence at the ceremony to be held at the San Francisco de Borja church in Madrid, and at the subsequent celebration. José Luis Martínez-Almeida, 48, and Teresa Urquijo Moreno, 27, have invited prominent members of the Popular Party and also relevant businessmen and personalities from Madrid's social life to their wedding. There will also be no shortage of members of the Borbón family, from Kings Juan Carlos and Sofia, to the Infantas Elena and Cristina, as well as the children of Infanta Pilar and Infanta Margarita, related to the bride. Kings Felipe and Letizia are also invited, but their presence has not been confirmed.

King Juan Carlos, who is in Abu Dhabi, will travel to Geneva on Friday and from there travel to Madrid on the same Saturday. It remains to be decided where the King's father will sleep during his stay in Madrid, given that it seems unlikely that he will do so in the Zarzuela palace. It so happens that on Monday, April 8, a funeral will be held in the capital of Spain in memory of Fernando Gómez-Acebo, the infant son of Infanta Pilar, who died a few weeks ago.
