Justice for Carlota Prado from 'GH'

The Big Brother case has finally come to an end, and it has not been an easy road. José María López has been sentenced by the criminal court number 18 of Madrid to 15 months in prison - as he has no criminal record and it is a sentence of less than two years, he will not set foot in prison - as the author responsible for a consummated crime of sexual abuse against Carlota Prado that happened during the participation of both in the Telecinco reality show Gran Hermano Revolution.

The events happened in the morning of November 5, 2017, but then they were somewhat camouflaged, both by the program and by the production company, Zeppelin, in an attempt to resolve the conflict internally, although there was indeed some of the audiovisual company a first complaint for the seriousness of an aggression that raised a lot of controversy, since the reality show was pointed out for not having intervened in time or for having stopped the broadcast of the program.

Finally, the facts came to light, with images of how Carlota Prado was forced to watch the images of the assault in a room with cameras and without the support of any psychologist. In fact, the contestant left the show for a few days, but returned to the reality show until she was kicked out, but at no point was anything discussed about what had happened.

Already out of the competition, Carlota Prado decided to denounce the aggressor, a contestant who knew Big Brother himself and with whom she had already had sexual encounters during the space.

He took advantage of the young woman's drunken state after a party to sexually assault her despite her state.

In this sense, the judge considers that it is proven that the accused, "guided by a libidinous spirit, knowing that Carlota was under the effects of an alcoholic stupor that would later lead her to unconsciousness, took off her pants - when both were in the same bed – and he began to make sexual movements under the duvet, despite the fact that the victim weakly told him 'I can't'.

The resolution also states that, "despite the fact that the accused asked her several times to open her eyes, Carlota remained motionless, and when he asked her how she was, she only managed to answer that she should move away, moment in which he turned and fell into unconsciousness”.

Regarding the performance of the program, the judgment notes that "the recordings were shown to the victim the next day, in an isolated room, where Carlota was alone and without any company other than the voiceover of the known as in Super, without any preparation of what they would teach him, without prior assistance on what he would see and without any contractual clause regulating the procedure of these circumstances”.

José María López has been sentenced to four years of separation and incommunicado from the victim and to compensate her in the amount of 6,000 euros as restitution for the moral damage caused.

For this amount, the entity Zeppelin Televisión SA will also have to answer as a subsidiary civil liability.
