Judges and magistrates call for protests in Andalusia and Salamanca against the PSOE pact - Junts

The president of the Provincial Court of Salamanca and judges from four provinces of Andalusia - Seville, Cádiz, Huelva and Jaén - have called this Tuesday for rallies against the agreement of the PSOE and Junts for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez due to the reference made therein to lawfare or judicialization of politics.

The senior judge of Seville has called all the judges and magistrates, the president of the Provincial Court, the provincial chief prosecutor and the Bar associations to a rally that took place on the ground floor of the Seville Court building at 1 p.m. :00 hours. The president of the Provincial Court and the senior judge of Salamanca and the president of the Provincial Court of Huelva have joined the call and there are also protests planned in Cádiz and Jaén.

This mobilization seeks to express the "express adherence" of its participants to the document published by the judicial associations in response to the agreement signed by PSOE and Junts and to reject the references made in it to the term lawfare or judicialization of politics.

This concept refers to the alleged political persecution from the courts and its inclusion in the agreement signed by the PSOE and Junts provoked the unanimous rejection of all legal operators. A term that, however, does not appear in the amnesty law finally registered on Monday by the PSOE.

Given the announcement of the rallies planned for this Tuesday, the progressive association Judges and Judges for Democracy has announced that its members will not attend the protests. "The defense of the separation of powers requires maintaining an image of impartiality and neutrality that these acts do not guarantee," the entity stated through a publication on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
