Initiative deputies refuse to vote for Enric Morera as Compromís senator

Four Compromís deputies - three from Initiative and a fourth yet to be revealed - have fulfilled their threat and have refused to vote for the candidate proposed by their parliamentary group, after a tough internal struggle, as territorial senator. The four have voted blank. Despite this, the one who was president of the autonomous Parliament until this legislature, Enric Morera, has been elected a member of the Upper House.

Sources from the group have indicated to La Vanguardia that the fourth dissenting vote was from one of the two green deputies: either Paula Espinosa or Juan Bordera; since the fourth deputy of the Initiative -Isaura Navarro- has not attended the plenary session. With this dual vote, Els Verds have avoided positioning themselves with one or the other in this internal row that has generated a lot of discomfort in Compromís.

Last Tuesday, Iniciativa's co-spokesman, Alberto Ibáñez, announced that its leaders were not going to "participate in the decision-making bodies" of the coalition, understanding that the relationship of trust between two of the three legs of the coalition had been broken. . For its part, Més Compromís (Morera's majority shareholder and party) argued that "no agreement had been breached, and to say so is to be untrue." For Més, the reaction of his coalition partners was "disproportionate."

The two PP candidates Gerardo Camps, Teresa Belmonte and Fernando Carbonell have also been appointed by Les Corts, the latter an independent agreed with Vox "to put a representative of civil society of recognized prestige." There have been no surprises and the two PSPV candidates, former president Ximo Puig and Rocío Briones, have been elected in a plenary session with which the Valencian Parliament closes the session.
