Girona signed their best start in the League with a victory at the Sánchez Pizjuán against a Sevilla that does not raise its head and adds three consecutive defeats. With Olga Carmona, the full-back of the Spanish women's national team in the box office, and with the Sevilla players wearing the phrase "Se acabó" on their chests with reference to the scandal of Luis Rubiales' bad behavior after the final of the Women's World Cup, the match was played at a high pace.
Sevilla were a very vertical team, as Mendilibar likes, and Girona were looking for long possessions and not giving so much intensity to the game. Girona scored early, in the 16th minute, in a set piece play. Míchel's took a corner and after Sow Yangel touched the ball, Hererra sent it into the net.
