Farewell to the endearing camel of 'Euphoria'

Angus Cloud, the 25-year-old actor who played Fezco, the endearing trafficker in the HBO series Euphoria, was found dead Monday at his family's home in Oakland (California), barely a week after losing her father. His loved ones were the ones in charge of breaking the news: "With great sadness, today we have to say goodbye to an incredible human being. As an artist, friend, brother and son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and struggled intensely with this loss. The only consolation we have is to know that Angus is now with his father, his best friend", read the letter from the family. The death of his father affected him greatly, and that is why he decided, after going to Dublin for the funeral, to stay a few days at the family home in Oakland.

According to the United States media TMZ, the artist's mother was the one who found him without powder at home and who quickly called the emergency services to alert the professionals of a "possible overdose". Despite the speed with which the doctors acted, there was nothing they could do to save his life.

Angus had spoken publicly about his long-standing battle with mental health issues: “We hope that his death can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and that they do not have to fight alone in silence", collected his family.

For its part, the HBO series has also regretted the news with a message on social networks: “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the death of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family." And the creator of the fiction, Sam Levinson, has added some words of consolation: "There was no one like Angus; he was too special, too talented and too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, against addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. i loved him I will always love him."

The young actor, discovered by a casting agent while working in a restaurant in New York, had not acted before Euphoria, in which he played a camel who cared about Rue, the role played by Zendaya. To some, Cloud seemed so natural playing Fezco that they suspected he was identical to the character, an idea he rejected. "It annoys me when people say: 'It must be so easy! You have to go in there and be yourself'. I say: 'Why don't you go and do it?' It's not that simple", declared Cloud in an interview with Variety. “I brought a lot to the character. You can believe what you want. It has nothing to do with me." He also defended the series against accusations by critics that he encouraged drug use among young people.

Just three months ago it was revealed that he would be part of the cast of the new thriller from the Universal Pictures factory. Likewise, throughout his career he appeared in several video clips, in Cigarrettes, with Juice WRLD, and in Mamii, with Becky G and Karol G, as well as in two more films, The line and North Hollywood.
