ERC distances itself from Junts and will vote in favor of the three decrees as it does not see the amnesty in danger

For now, the stone in Pedro Sánchez's right shoe is Junts; In his pair, the left, everything indicates that the stone will be the five deputies of Podemos, and not Esquerra. The party of Oriol Junqueras announced this afternoon that he will vote in favor of the three royal decrees that will be debated in Congress this Wednesday. The first addresses measures in labor matters, the second contemplates more aid in a context of crisis and the third proposes a modification in the Criminal Procedure Law that indicates that any preliminary question raised by the Spanish courts to the European justice system will force the process to be suspended. judicial.

Junts believes that in these decrees there is an invasion of powers and that "underfinancing" is worsening. But they put the emphasis on the third decree, which they say makes it difficult to apply the amnesty law, which is expected to be approved in the coming months. ERC denies this and remembers that there is no news. Its spokesperson, Raquel Sans, assured today that this modification “the only thing it does is incorporate a European directive” into Spanish legislation. Furthermore, she recalled that currently some judicial processes are already put on hold when preliminary questions are raised to the European courts.

“What is done is not to leave it to the discretion of the judges to suspend” a judicial process while the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) is consulted, the Republican has clarified. In other words, with the incorporation of the text proposed by the Government, the Spanish magistrates are forced to stop the processes.

Junts announced their intention to vote against all three. Today he has insisted on his rejection. Podemos also keeps the PSOE and Sumar Executive in suspense, but with respect to social measures that they do not like. The Government is facing a litmus test as soon as it presents its first measures this term. ERC, on the other hand, sees advantages in the three decrees. Sans has valued, for example, that the decrees make access to unemployment benefits more flexible for those under 45 years of age, that breastfeeding days are universalized and that, as he said, regional labor agreements prevail over those at the regional level. state.

Sans has also given approval to extend the evictions of vulnerable families, or to revalue pensions or to prevent dismissals by crediting the increase in energy costs, mainly due to the war in Ukraine.

“The justice decree includes technical issues to streamline the administration of justice, which have an impact on people, for example, who go to court in the case of divorce and who see that these situations are delayed (…), at the same time "that issues prejudicial to Europe are included," the ERC leader remarked.
