Christian is already preparing for his majority

Princess Eleonor is not the only heir who will come of age in October. Before the daughter of the kings of Spain swears to the Constitution on her birthday, on October 31, Christian of Denmark, second in line to the Danish throne after his father, will turn 18. It will be on October 15.

The Danish royal house is preparing a series of celebrations for this day, when Queen Margarida's grandson will come of age. The first was to create a web page to inform about this anniversary and the celebrations that take place on this day, thus pointing out its importance for the institution.

In this way it is known that on this day the festivities will begin at 11.50 a.m. at the palace of Christian VII, in Amalienborg, the royal residence in Copenhagen. The Royal Guard will wear the red gala uniform and they will do a great changing of the guard. After that, Prince Christian Valdemar Henri John, who also holds the title of Count of Montpesat, will come out to greet Frederic VIII's palace balcony, in the same Amalienborg complex. But the young man will not be alone, but on the balcony will also be his grandmother, Queen Margaret II (83), his parents Frederic (55) and Mary (51), and his siblings Isabel (16) and the twins Vicent and Josefina (12).

This Sunday, October 15, the monarch has organized a gala dinner in her honor at Christiansborg Castle, at 5 p.m. Representatives from a selection of Danish youth organizations are invited, as well as young people who have distinguished themselves in the world of sport, art and culture. In addition, up to 200 young people from the country's municipalities, including Greenland and the Faroe Islands, will also attend. Each territory has selected two 18-year-olds to participate in the gala.

It is expected that this gala dinner will be attended by some representatives of the European royal houses, especially the Nordic ones, who are closely related to each other. Also, when Prince Christian was christened, on January 21, 2006, at Christianborg Palace, his godparents were Princess Victoria of Sweden, Princes Haakon and Mette-Marit of Norway, Prince Paul of Greece ( her father's first cousin), Prince Joachim of Denmark (her paternal uncle), Jane Stephens (her maternal aunt), Hamish Campbell (Mary's childhood friend) and Jeppe Handwerk (Prince Frederic's childhood friend) .

Almost a month later, on November 14 at 9.30 in the morning, Prince Christian will participate for the first time in a meeting of the Council of State, where he will make a solemn statement about his desire to respect the Constitution. He can then be appointed regent, although he will not get a seat on the Council until there is a change to the throne. That is, until his father, Prince Frederik, is king and therefore Christian holds first place in the line of succession.
