Aramendi, the future of Mediaset

The house of Guadalix, sancta sanctorum of the mother of all realities, opens its doors again tonight. Telecinco returns to prime time Gran Hermano in its VIP version betting on two more recent presenters: Marta Flich and Ion Aramendi. The Basque journalist is not new to these fights: his service sheet already includes the debate on Pesadilla en el paraíso and Survivientes. That is why he is less nervous than the contestants of this eighth edition: "They will face a vital experience that will probably change their lives; I don't stop being a transmitter of information, but it gives me immense excitement to face a format of which I am a fanatic".

The presenter, delighted to have Marta Flich as a companion, promises them great happiness: "The casting is spectacular, they are people with a long history, names that make people talk. But the fundamental thing, the key to the program's success, is the same as always: it's one thing how you enter and another when and how you leave." He believes that the long trajectory of the GH experiment, broadcast even in 26 countries, is in the very essence of the human being: "It is a program of emotions, of mental analysis, psychological, in which I put myself in the shoes of the participant: how would I face these relationships, these conflicts? This psychological and sociological game fascinates me and for me it is its strong point".

The chain's most historically successful program is a reward for its solid and upward trajectory - it will be combined with the Reacción en cadena contest - and it opens the doors to more professional possibilities. The journalist, with whom we chatted minutes before landing in San Sebastià to sponsor the Moonz children's orthodontic clinic, rests little, works hard and is happy. We'll see why right away.

Aramendi combines his passion for television with music. He sings in a band of friends created more than ten years ago: "We started doing covers and finally I started composing songs: I play a little piano and bass, but mostly I play the guitar. It's what helps me make melodies. Now I have another group in Madrid and it's a great project."

Although television is his life today, he had to walk a lot and over rocky terrain to find his way. Ion Aramendi left his native Saint to settle in Salamanca brought by basketball, his first profession. Here are his references on the court and on TV: “Magic Johnson. Certainly. And in Spain, Montero and Azofra. On the other hand, lifelong presenters: Joaquín Prat, Constantino Romero, Jordi Hurtado... Today, Jorge Javier Vázquez, Roberto Leal, Arturo Valls and Carlos Sobera, who is also a friend".

He studied Journalism in Salamanca and not long after his heart was broken. Lost, he packed his bag and went as far away as possible. In Australia, he made a living as a waiter and came back rebuilt. "It was a personal rebirth. I traveled there alone and was there for a year in a somewhat illegal way (laughs). I missed my family and friends, but I persevered. I believed in love and people again, in trusting myself, I regained my self-esteem, I went back to sports... To be what I was before”.

That stage today is a bad dream. Married to fellow journalist María Amores for 12 years - he met her at university - he has three children with her. Unlike Aramendi, she had always been behind the camera as an editor. But one day he opened his Instagram account to become Generouser and currently presents his own video podcast on Mtmadt. In addition to their profession, they have a great sense of humor in common. An example Marieta, the youngest, was born after a complicated caesarean section and Generouser concluded the account of her experience: “If you are a dwarf Chihuahua, do not cross with a large Basque Mastiff or you will have puppies beyond your physical capabilities! ". Aramendi praises her style: "She has a naturalness and spontaneity of ten and, moreover, she connects very well with the people who follow her". He is in love with her as if he had just met her: "We have a wonderful relationship. María is the best person I know, also the funniest, and with whom I have the best time. We have been incredibly lucky to have been able to create a great family, with wonderful children. We feel that we are part of a team, we all row for the family. If we have to be on the networks making videos, why not, if we are proud of what we have created. And naturally. Our children share our sense of humor, I laugh a lot with them", explains Aramendi happily.
