The Youth Councilor of Illescas (Toledo), David Gómez del Barrio, has resigned from his position after a video of him with sexual content was disseminated. The recording in question was filmed before the former councilor began his political activity.
The councilor, 28 years old, went to work in the municipal government after the elections in May of last year. Now, after the sex video was released, "he has distanced himself from the public life of the municipality," municipal sources have declared to the EFE agency. However, they have also pointed out that these are "personal" issues that affect the private sphere of a person prior to entering politics.
Some local media have published some of the messages in the aforementioned video, which had high sexual content.
On the other hand, sources have confirmed that on March 27, the plenary session not only addressed the resignation of Gómez, but also that of another local government councilor. In this case, it was Alejandro Hernández, who declared that he was resigning for work reasons.
In any case, on April 5, the two new councilors, Raúl Casla and Rosa Vacas, took office. "The Illescas government team has acted "diligently" in replacing the two councilors who have resigned and municipal activity continues," said municipal sources.
