A similar deputy in Borràs accuses the Junts group of "harassment on the basis of gender"

Cristina Casol, member of Junts and related to Laura Borràs, sent the Equality Office of the Parliament of Catalonia in November a complaint against her same group for "harassment on the basis of gender", which is not sexual.

The information, advanced by Ara and confirmed by La Vanguardia, further strains the situation of the party led by Albert Batet in the Catalan Chamber. This is because Casol presented the document before Aurora Madaula, a member of the Board and also a JxCat parliamentarian and close to the president of the party, also accused some of her colleagues in the group, on the 24th of that month, from the chamber. of the Catalan Chamber, this time for being responsible for “silent violence” of a sexist nature.

The investigation that led to Casol's complaint is being carried out by an external company, called Institut de Treball Social i Serveis Socials (Intress). Some of the deputies that the parliamentarian cites in the letter have already gone to this body to give their version of the events. The conclusions would have to be concluded soon, because the company has two months to clarify the facts.

Madaula has been on sick leave since the end of the year. He had ten days to present a letter to Junts' guarantee committee to denounce the facts, but since he was on sick leave, he was given seven more days to do so. However, finally, according to sources consulted, he declined to go to this body and the internal investigation has stopped.

Until then, the guarantees commission had another document presented by about twenty Junts deputies, as well as another from the feminism sector, in which they question Madaula's words and denounce that the deputy uses an accusation “politically” about violence. The leadership of the party even questioned the continuity of the deputy in the party and on the Board.

The information about the alleged harassment that Casol denounces made Junts react. The party considers that it has always been about "political disagreements", and that there has not been "gender-based harassment" at all. In any case, the training is protected by confidentiality so as not to give further explanations. “The parliamentary group has always acted with absolute respect for all its members,” points out the party led by Jordi Turull and Laura Borràs.
